7/14 NEW MOON IN CANCER

new MOON IN CAncer

Tuesday, July 14 – 5:43am

The New Moon arrives at 22 degrees of Cancer, drawing our attention inward toward the foundations of our lives. Cancer is the sign of home, belonging, family, memory, nourishment, and the emotional roots that hold us. Under this New Moon, we are invited to consider what truly allows us to feel at home, both in the places we inhabit and within ourselves.

And with Mercury retrograde, this is not necessarily a moment for rushing toward the new. The gaze turns inward and backward. We may find ourselves revisiting old memories, returning to unfinished conversations, reconsidering where and how we want to live, or remembering needs that became lost beneath the momentum of everyday life.

Collectively, this New Moon asks us to examine the environments we have created. What are we building around ourselves? What kinds of homes, families, communities, and systems of care will carry us into the future? And where have we mistaken familiarity for true belonging?

Cancer reminds us that everything begins with the conditions that make life possible. Before we can create, lead, expand, or venture outward, there must be somewhere to return to. There must be nourishment. There must be a container strong enough to hold what is growing.

The loose square to Saturn brings a quiet gravity to this lunation. It asks us to become more conscious of the structures surrounding our emotional lives. Perhaps certain boundaries need strengthening. Perhaps an old definition of security has become too small. Perhaps the home we once knew, literally or metaphorically, can no longer contain the person we are becoming.

Mercury retrograde makes this a particularly powerful moment for looking again. A childhood memory may reveal something new. A former dream may return with different meaning. A conversation with family may open a door into the past. We may discover that something we have been searching for in the outer world has been waiting for our attention much closer to home.

On a collective level, this Cancer New Moon raises profound questions about belonging itself. Who gets to feel safe? Who has access to home, land, food, family, and care? What happens when the structures designed to shelter life no longer do so adequately? Cancer speaks to the fundamental human need to belong somewhere, to someone, to a lineage, a place, a community, or a living world.

This is a New Moon for tending the roots.

For listening to what the past is still trying to tell us.

For creating the inner and outer conditions in which something truly nourishing can begin.

What does home mean to you now?

And what might you need to return to, remember, or restore in order to create it?

What might you need to restructure?

Home is calling you back. Old memories, family patterns, or questions of belonging may return, asking to be seen with new eyes. Pay attention to what makes you feel rooted, safe, and able to soften. Your past has something to show you about the foundation you are building now.

What does home mean to me now?

Taurus

Your words carry particular weight now. A conversation may return, an old idea may resurface, or something left unsaid may finally be ready for a voice. Listen closely to the stories you repeat to yourself. Some of them are ready to change.

What conversation or inner narrative am I ready to rewrite?

Gemini

What truly sustains you? Questions around money, security, self-worth, and what you value come into focus under this New Moon. Look again at what you already have, what you genuinely need, and where you have been giving away your own sense of worth.

What do I truly need to feel secure?

A new chapter begins with a return to yourself. This is your New Moon, a moment to reclaim something essential that may have been forgotten or left behind. You don’t need to reinvent yourself. You need to remember who you are and what you want now.

What part of myself am I ready to reclaim?

Leo

Step away from the noise. This New Moon draws you into the quieter rooms of your inner world, where dreams, intuition, and the need for rest speak more clearly. You don’t have to force an answer. Something is forming in the dark. Give it space.

Who do I want beside me in the future I am creating?

Success is ready for a new definition. Your path, purpose, and place in the world are shifting, and an old ambition may return with new meaning. Look beyond what is expected of you and ask whether the life you are building truly feels like your own.

What am I truly building, and does it still feel like mine?

Scorpio

The horizon opens, perhaps through a road you have traveled before. Old beliefs, places, studies, or unfinished journeys may return for another look. Let yourself question what you once accepted as truth. A larger world begins with a new way of seeing.

Which belief am I ready to question, and which truth am I ready to trust?

Sagittarius

Go beneath the surface. Intimacy, trust, shared resources, and old emotional entanglements come into focus now. Something from the past may be ready to be understood differently or finally released. Allow yourself to receive support as readily as you give it.

What am I ready to share, release, or receive?

Capricorn

Your closest relationships become mirrors under this New Moon. An old dynamic, conversation, or connection may return, offering a chance to see it more clearly. Notice who truly meets you, who nourishes you, and with whom you can be fully yourself.

What do my closest relationships reveal about what I need now?

Your daily life is asking for care. Routines, work, health, and the small rituals that hold your days together are ready for a reset, though the answer may lie in returning to something that once worked. Notice where your life needs more nourishment and less pressure.

What daily practice would help me feel more at home in my own life?

Pisces

Something wants to come alive again. Creativity, pleasure, romance, and self-expression are illuminated now, perhaps through an old passion or forgotten part of yourself. Follow what brings you joy without needing to justify it. There is wisdom in what makes you feel more alive.

What part of me is ready to play, create, and come alive again?

After having read Rebecca Gordon’s book, Your Body and the Stars, I knew it was important to go deeper into studying how the zodiac sign influences health. This class isn’t just for those interested in medical practice, it’s suitable for everyone who also want to be more attuned to their bodies. We were treated to fun and informative sessions on going through our natal charts and watching out for potential health issues, as well as identifying some alignments that could affect the health.
— Geolette E, Journalist and Magazine Editor
I thoroughly enjoyed the Astrology of Relationships class. Rebecca is a gifted astrologer with a creative and unique voice. She introduced me to new techniques and added layers to my understanding of synastry. Her distinctive take on the waltz between the sun and moon in relationships provided a fresh new perspective for my understanding of aspects in relationships. There is a Facebook group to connect with your fellow students. I love that all her classes are live and interactive.
— Celeste B, Astrologer
After studying astrology for over 20 years to then becoming professional the last few years, I am a great believer in continuing development. Through studying and learning from many teachers, I have followed Rebecca for the last two years.
Specialising In Medical Astrology I loved her Health and Wellness course, there was so much information which gave me a deeper understanding of how to bring in the ecosystem.
I would highly recommend this class even if you are not an Astrologer you will still benefit from this class.
— Debbie B- Professional Astrologer
I have taken two full courses and countless workshops and private sessions with Rebecca. She is undoubtedly a master of her craft and a true mentor for her students. I live in gratitude to her for the rich knowledge she has equipped me in understanding myself and in helping others learn about themselves through astrology.
— MORGAN R, MEDICAL RESEARCHER
I met Rebecca years ago at a workshop she was teaching. I was immediately drawn to the lightness and life that she brings to the ancient art of astrology - she makes it so accessible and fun, without sacrificing any of its depth and life-changing potential. It’s been such a joy to be in her astrology school. I’ve gained a much deeper understanding of myself, and seen how we are all “wired” really differently, based on studies of natal charts. This has helped me to be much more patient and understanding with my friends and family ;) And, the class really feels like a true spiritual community: supportive, intimate and inspiring. I will miss our weekly gatherings!
