March commences with one of the most significant ingresses of the year: Saturn in Pisces. The seemingly incongruent energies of the rigid taskmaster malefic and the amorphous, go-with-the-flow Pisces sensibility haven’t met in thirty years—and their collective forces are here to reawaken our spiritual mindset and to bring us closer to source in a more meaningful and structured way. It’s the to-do list meets the great abyss.
While Saturn in Aquarius was intrinsically linked to the greater collective, in Pisces we zoom out to grander horizons with even bigger reverberations. Both Saturn and Pisces embrace the process of becoming, but they activate these energies through different methods. The ringed planet is systematic, rigid, goal-oriented, and it pushes you forward through hard work and earned rewards. The Piscean mindset—depicted symbolically by two fish swimming in opposite directions, much like alchemical unifying energies of the Ouroboros—is an unfolding, revelatory vibe that has no timeline or destination. Its sole (or soul) purpose is to connect you to whatever you deem divine or God-like. It’s here to reunite you to source. It’s the potential to peer into the abyss and have the abyss look back in return.
On a higher octave, these two combined cosmic forces can help you systematically return to your spiritual homebase. Whatever modality of soul solace vibrates for you, this can be an opportunity to reawaken your meditation practice, devotional prayer, or even a pastime like surfing or a morning writing ritual. Again, this can be whatever aligns you to a feeling of greater purpose or a more meaningful healing salve that conjures a spiritual connection. Now, you’ll be able to activate this desire for something deeper with more commitment and sticktoitiveness. This act will allow you to connect closely with your soul’s calling in this lifetime, so committing to something that inspires you to conjoin with the flow of the cosmos will only enrich your life—and will also help you reach your goals with a clearer vision and unobstructed path.
But, on a lower vibration, Saturn in Pisces can be a reflection of society’s darker beliefs bubbling to the surface and escapist tendencies that have us turning away from source rather than reveling in it. Saturn is deemed a malefic for good reason—its darker motivations can be hypercritical, tyrannical, paranoid, afraid of change, and perpetually pessimistic. Pisces in its shadow form seeks soul-level truth in destructive ways and can lead to addiction, fanaticism of faith, depression, and sorrow. The combination of these darker forces can create disenchantment rather than magic, so staying conscious and cognizant of all shades of the Saturn in Pisces experience will be important to stay on course.
