Bess fell hard for mysticism as a mini bite—where she spent her middle school days pouring over the glossy pages of Parkers’ Astrology in search of epic symbols to enhance the mundane, and flipping tarot cards at the family poker table. Faced with a total breakdown/breakthrough during her Saturn Return, the language of astrology and tarot quite literally brought her back to life.
Since going pro in 2013, she’s been a celestial consultant for platforms and institutions including Teen Vogue, Almay cosmetics, Ace Hotel, and the Rubin Museum of Art; and is the author of astro and tarot books that include The Tarot Almanac (Sterling, 2023). When not busy combing the cosmos, Bess can be spotted sporting hot pink lipstick while wandering deserts and tropics, feasting on pasta platters, and wiggling to pop music.
